Troubleshooting & FAQ
Known issues after app updates and general support guidance for the legacy BitVision app (v22.08.16).
This page covers the Q&A section from the legacy BitVision app manual (v22.08.16). For current troubleshooting topics, see the User Manual FAQ.
App Scope
The BitVision app operations described in this manual are complete at this point. The app includes additional buttons and controls, but they are not used with this product — support cannot be provided for those operations.
For anything beyond video viewing (such as configuration changes), we recommend performing those operations using the mouse directly on the recorder unit. Depending on your network environment and smartphone model, certain operations may not work correctly through the app.
Known Issues After App Updates
The following symptoms have been reported following app updates.
Devices Missing from "Local Device"
After updating the app, devices registered under Local Device may disappear entirely, or only some cameras may appear (for example, 1 out of 4 cameras shows up).
Workaround: Delete the affected device entry and re-register it by scanning the QR code again. The device should then appear and function normally.
Android: Preview Does Not Auto-Resume
On Android, when you reopen the app, the last previewed video stream does not automatically resume — unlike on iOS, where auto-resume works as expected.
Workaround: Open the Playback screen (or another screen) once, then navigate to the Real Time screen. The preview will then resume automatically.
If that workaround is inconvenient, you can simply re-select the camera manually and start the preview again.
Getting Support
If you have any questions not covered here, please contact the support desk for your region. If phone lines are busy, you can reach support by email or fax and a representative will call you back.
