Complete the guest device registration flow (IP/DDNS/SN method), confirm the device is added, then open the Real Time live-view screen and learn its controls.

This page continues the guest device registration that begins in the Overview. The administrator registration flow (SN Add) is also covered there.

Completing Guest Device Registration (IP/DDNS/SN)

The steps below pick up from the point where you have opened the Add Device menu during guest registration.

Tap IP/DDNS/SN.

Add Device popup showing SN Add, IP/DDNS/SN, and LAN Search options

Tap the SN tab, then tap the scan icon on the right side of the S/N field.

Add Local Device screen with IPC, SN, and X/NVR tabs; S/N field with scan icon highlighted

The QR code scanner opens. Scan the QR code displayed on the right side of the recorder's monitor screen (refer to the Operation Guide, p. 26).

Scan the serial number screen with camera viewfinder active and QR code in frame

If a message requesting camera access appears, grant permission. On some Android devices you may also need to enable camera permission from the system Settings app. Consult your smartphone's manual if you are unsure.

If the QR code cannot be read, tap < at the top left to go back, then type the S/N (serial number — the 13-digit number below the QR code on the recorder screen) directly into the S/N field.

Once the serial number is filled in, enter the following details, then tap Add.

Confirming Registration

Open Device Manage from the menu. When Local device shows 1/1, registration is complete.

When registered as a guest, device information is stored on the smartphone rather than in your account. If you change devices or reinstall the app, you will need to register the device again.

Opening the Real Time (Live) Preview

View live camera footage from your smartphone.

Due to data usage limits, the preview automatically stops after 15 minutes. Extended preview sessions place a large processing load on the device and may cause malfunctions. Do not use the app as a continuous monitor display.

Tap the menu button hamburger menu icon at the top left of the screen to open the menu.

Tap Real Time.

The split-screen grid appears. Tap + in the center of any empty tile.

Navigate to Local device > the device name > the channel number (CH) you want to view, then tap it.

The live camera feed appears in the selected tile.

iOS: The same camera feed resumes automatically the next time you launch the app.

Android: The preview does not resume automatically on launch. However, after you open a different menu screen after launch, the preview will restart on its own — you do not need to tap + again.
