Access via the BitVision App

How to add the IP camera to the BitVision app using P2P (QR/serial number) or direct IP/DDNS access, and how to view live video on your smartphone.

Access via the BitVision App (P2P)

Download and install the BitVision app on your smartphone.

Create an account. On first launch, accept the terms of use and grant any required permissions. Tap Registrati / Register, enter your email address, a password (at least 6 characters, entered twice), then tap Send Email Code. Copy the numeric code received at that email address into the captcha field and tap Registrati / Register again. The message Registrazione avvenuta / Successfull Registration confirms your account has been created.

Log in. Open the app, enter the credentials you just created, and tap Login.

Add the camera by scanning its QR code (SN Add). Tap the Devices icon, then tap Add, then tap SN Add. Scan the QR code on the device's label or box.

In the Device field enter a name for the device (up to 20 characters, no special characters). Enter the device username and password (default: admin / admin), then enter the captcha value printed on the same label. Select the group the device will belong to, then tap Done. After a few seconds the app confirms that the device has been added to your account.

View live video. Tap the Real time icon, tap Real Time, then select the device and the channels you want to display by ticking them, and tap Fatto / Done.

Device selection screen

Tap the multiview selector Multiview selector (1/4/9/16) to switch to the desired layout (up to 16 channels on iOS and Android). Double-tap a channel to expand it to full screen. When a single channel is displayed, you can choose — bandwidth permitting — between Fluido, BD, and HD streams.

Tap the video again to access the recording controls:

Managing devices and account:

  • Tap Profile, then Dispositivi to add an IP camera to your account, or to rename, change group, or remove devices already linked to your profile.
  • Tap Profile, then Logout to sign out of the app (a confirmation prompt will appear).
  • Adding or removing a device from an account triggers a notification email (sent from the BitVision server to the account email address, containing the device serial number).
  • An IP camera can be associated with one account only (email + password). Keep your account credentials safe: without them you cannot remove a linked device, and the device cannot be added to any other account.
  • The same account can be used on multiple smartphones simultaneously.
  • Direct access to the device via the app (without the P2P server) is also possible — see Direct Access via the App below.
  • If QR scanning fails (e.g., due to neon lighting, low-resolution or reflective display), scan the QR code on the product label instead. If reading problems persist, tap SN Input and enter the serial number manually from the label or from Configuration → Network → Advanced Setup → P2P, then follow the same steps as above.
  • In the camera's web interface, log in and go to Configuration → Network → Advanced Setup → P2P. The Connection Status field must show P2P connection successful.
  • If your smartphone switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data, close and relaunch the app to re-establish the connection.
  • The Playback function via the app plays back only video recorded to the camera's SD card in scheduled or event mode (Playback setting in Device → My Devices). Playback is not available for cameras added in direct-access mode.

Direct Access via the App

This mode lets you view the camera's video stream without going through the P2P server — using a direct IP or DDNS connection instead. The table below compares the two access methods:

Account (Login / P2P)Direct
QR CodeYesNo (WAN IP required)
Access viaP2P serverDDNS server or direct static IP
Connection speedHighVery high
PlaybackYesNo

Launch the BitVision app.

Tap the Devices icon, tap +, then tap Add Device → IP/DDNS/SN, and select IPC/FISH.

Fill in the fields:

  • Device number (13 digits): enter a descriptive name for the device.
  • Device name: enter any identifier you like.
  • IP: enter the WAN IP — the public IP address or DDNS hostname of your internet connection — then, in the router that manages the connection, create Virtual Server rules forwarding port 554/6000 (TCP) to the NVR's local IP address.
  • Private Port: enter 6000.
  • Enter the access credentials and the number of channels.

Tap Save.

When accessing the device via direct mode, only the current live stream is available. Playback of recorded footage is not supported in this mode.
